Derma Planing
Derma Planing or Blading is a manual exfoliation treatment which removes the outer most layers of dead skin cells leaving the skin rejuvenated and better prepared to absorb your skin care products.
How is this treatment performed?
A surgical blade is stroked along the skin at a 45 degree angle while the skin is held taut.
Is this Treatment Safe?
Yes – our certified, medical estheticians have extensive training and experience performing this treatment.
If you are ‘blading” the skin on the face, won’t the hairs on the face grow back thicker?
No, it is a myth that once shaved that all hairs grow back thicker. It is physiologically impossible for velous hairs to respond in that way.
What areas of the skin can be treated?
Derma Planing the skin is performed on the face only.
How often is this procedure performed?
We recommend that derma planing be performed every 3 – 4 weeks allowing the skin to complete it’s normal skin cycle of approximately 30 days.
What skin types/conditions can be treated?
Derma planing is very beneficial for those with extremely sensitive skin, redness or rosacea, or visible facial veins. This is not a treatment for our patients with acne prone skin.
