IPL – Photofacial

What is a Photofacial?

The IPL Photofacial targets a broad spectrum of light to the lower layers of the epidermis causing the skin to produce new collagen and connective tissue, which supports the upper skin layer better and makes the skin surface smoother. The IPL Photofacial also targets vascular lesions and symptoms of rosacea and signs of aging.

What skin conditions can benefit from an IPL Photofacial treatment?

Those with sun damaged skin, rosacea, age spots ( or pigmented lesions) and those with large pores on their face, neck or chest.

How many treatments are necessary to see results?

For most patients, the first treatment will produce smoother and more even skin tone.  However, four to six treatments are suggested for optimal results.  Over time sunspots will fade, pore size will reduce and fine lines and wrinkles will smooth out. Rosacea patients will see a progressive improvement with each appointment.

Is there down time with this treatment?

No!  This is an ideal lunch time treatment.  Some discoloration may be seen in the area immediately following the treatment.  This discoloration can be easily covered with make-up.  Within one to three weeks the lesion or dark spots will gradually flake off.
